Whitko Basketball: West Leads ‘Cats In Victory
SOUTH WHITLEY — A busy week started off the right way for the Whitko boys basketball Tuesday night. The Wildcats snapped a two-game losing streak to Central Noble, a potential sectional opponent, following a 73-67 win.
River West led the way for the Wildcats as he dropped a game-high 24 points. West also added five boards, four steals and an assist. Nate Walpole led the team with nine assists and seven rebounds while also tallying 18 points and three steals. Seven Wildcats scored in total, the offensive production was rounded out by Alex Bechtold (eight points), Brian Collins (seven), Alex Robbins (six) and Colin Craig (six).
Whitko improves to 4-0 on the season while Central Noble falls to 0-3. The Wildcats, who debuted at No. 17 in the 2-A polls this week, will host West Noble (1-3) Thursday and travel to Wawasee (3-1) on Saturday.
