LCA Basketball: Cougars Rally Late For Win
PORTAGE – A fabulous finish carried the Lakeland Christian Academy boys basketball team to a win at Portage Christian Friday night.
The Cougars outscored the hosts 18-10 in the final quarter to rally for a 55-48 victory.
LCA trailed 38-37 entering the final frame before coming up with the win. Landon Twombly scored six points in the final period to spark the winners.
The Cougars, who improved to 3-2 with their third straight win, fell behind 17-6 after the first quarter and trailed 27-19 at halftime.
Josh McDaniel and Jeremy Gross each scored 13 points to lead the offense for LCA. Landon Twombly finished with 11 points and Noah Twombly added nine.
Landon Twombly led LCA with eight rebounds and Noah Twombly snared six caroms. Jake Harmon dished out five assists for the Cougars.
LCA, now 3-2, plays at North Miami Tuesday night.
