Automated Phone System Is Hot Topic At County Commissioners Meeting
WARSAW — A request for an automated phone system was made at the commissioners meeting on Tuesday, Dec. 13 by Sheriff Aaron Rovenstine.
Rovenstine states that the director came to him recently and asked if it was possible to get an automated system that would allow for only emergency calls to go to the 911 center instead of taking all calls from other agencies.
Rovenstine stated that ever since the inception of the 911 center, his department has been answering after-hour calls for all county offices, including calls for the auditor and treasurer, among others.
Committee members agreed that such a system is probably overdue. A motion was made to investigate this further, the motion was seconded and the topic will carry over to the next meeting.
