NorthWood Football: Panthers Hand Out Accolades
NAPPANEE – The NorthWood football team has recognized special award winners from its outstanding season this past fall.
The Panthers went 14-1 and earned a Class 4-A state runner-up finish under coach Nate Andrews.
Among the NorthWood standouts receiving honors were senior quarterback Trey Bilinski, who earned the Offensive Player of the Year Award. Also honored were Drew Minnich (Steve Miller/Mr. Black Crunch Player of the Year), along with Ethan Hochstetler (Rod Broadway Special Teams Player of the Year) and Andrew Miller (Lineman of the Year).
The Panthers also presented special accolades to Garrett Griffin (Josh Callander Comeback Player of the Year), Lorenzo Rocha (Most Improved), Caleb Newcomer (Jim Andrews Panther Pride Award) and Bailey Coleman (Steve Neff Look Player of the Year).
NorthWood set a program record with its 14 wins, claiming sectional, regional and semistate titles along the way before losing 34-22 to Indianapolis Roncalli in the Class 4-A state championship game last month. The Panthers won the Northern Lakes Conference championship at 7-0.
