National Weather Services Issues Winter Weather Advisory
WARSAW —The National Weather Service has issued a winter weather advisory to be in effect from 4 p.m. EST Friday, Dec. 16, until 7 a.m. EST Saturday, Dec. 17.
Warsaw, Winona Lake, Syracuse, Mentone, Plymouth, Columbia City and other area towns are included in this advisory.
According to the NWS, snow will develop by late this afternoon and continue into tonight and then mix with or change to sleet and freezing rain.
One to two inches of snow, along with minor ice accumulations of less than one tenth of an inch are possible. Due to these conditions, roads will become slick and hazardous, especially tonight.
A winter weather advisory means periods of snow, sleet or freezing rain will cause travel difficulties. The NWS warns individuals to be prepared for slippery roads and limited visibilities and to use caution while driving.
