Evelyn M. Leeper
Evelyn M. Leeper, 99, Bremen, passed away peacefully at 4:20 a.m., Thursday, Dec. 15, 2016 in Signature Health Care of Bremen.
Evelyn was born on Sept. 27, 1917, to Jess and Amelia (Berger) Bollenbacher. On Dec. 31, 1938, she married Adam Leeper. He passed away on Nov. 5, 2000. She is survived by daughter: Barbara Berg, Bremen; granddaughter: Audra Berg, Angel Fire, NM; and brother: Lester (Mildred) Bollenbacher, Bremen. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, granddaughter, Melinda Berg Stratton; and sisters: Bernice Myers and Ruth Rohrer; and brothers: Clarence, Norman, and Louis Bollenbacher. Evelyn attended Eager School, Lakeville and St. Paul’s Lutheran School, and was a 1936 graduate of Lakeville High School. She was co-owner of Leeper’s Antiques with her husband, Adam. For many years, she and her husband were vendors at the Shipshewana Flea Market and various antique shows. She was a lifetime member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Bremen. Her hobbies included attending auctions, sewing, gardening and cooking. Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., Tuesday, Dec. 20 in St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, 605 S. Center St., Bremen. Funeral Services will follow at 1 p.m. in the church with burial to follow in Bremen Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials to St. Paul’s Lutheran Church or Lutheran Church Charites-Comfort Dogs Ministry, 3020 Milwaukee Ave., Northbrook, IL 60062.
