LaVerne Ann Sroka, 82, Plymouth, passed away at her daughter’s residence early Saturday morning, Dec. 17, 2016.

She was born May 4, 1934 in Chicago, Ill. She married Chester Walter Sroka on April 16, 1955 in Chicago.

LaVerne was a homemaker. She was a member of the St. Michael Catholic Church. She enjoyed gardening, reading books, cooking and singing. She especially loved and enjoyed her family and grandchildren.

Surviving is her husband, Chester Walter Sroka of Plymouth; three sons: John and Gail Sroka of Bridgeview, Ill.; Bruce and Cindy Sroka of Romeoville, Ill.; Roger Sroka of Lyons, Ill.; two daughters: Tracie Sroka of Plymouth; Kelly and Richard Smith of Crystal Lake, Ill. Also surviving are her eleven grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, two sisters: Gloria Kawka of Knox and Lorraine Mierzwa of Windsor, Colo.

She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother; Richard Cholewa and one sister; Dolores Campbell.

A memorial mass will take place at a later date.
