BENTON – NorthWood improved to 11-2 overall with a 44-35 girls basketball win Tuesday night at Fairfield.

Riley Hershberger was a monster for the Black Swish, recording 13 points, 11 rebounds and six steals in the complete effort. Savannah Feenstra came through with eight points and Nicole Flickinger had seven points in the win.

Felicity Bontrager led the home Falcons with 11 points and Alexis Thaxton had seven points.

In the JV contest, Kira Robinson scored 12 points and the Black Swish rallied from an 8-0 hole in the first quarter to edge Fairfield 34-32. NorthWood’s JV is 12-1 overall.

NorthWood will next play in the Banker’s Classic hosted by Northridge on Dec. 29-30, meeting Columbia City, Lake Central and South Bend Adams in pool play. Fairfield (9-4) will be off until a home game against Garrett on Jan. 3.
