Helen V. Yoder — UPDATED
Helen V. Yoder, 96, Columbia City, passed away at 12:26 p.m. Saturday Dec. 24, 2016 at Renaissance Village, Fort Wayne.
Born on Aug. 9, 1920 in Kendallville, she was the daughter of Arthur E. and Dissie L. (Hill) Huff.
On Oct. 26, 1946 Helen married Hobart E. Yoder in Ligonier.
Helen was a homemaker and had been a lifetime resident of Ligonier prior to moving to Columbia City about ten years ago.
Survivors include her son-in-law, Maurice Freeman, Columbia City; grandson, Jeremy (Maureen) Freeman, Columbia City; granddaughter, Heather Freeman, Fort Wayne; great-grandchildren: Eden, Wyatt, and Trevor.
She was preceded in death by her husband Hobart E. Yoder in 1986; daughter Virginia Freeman in 2014; and sisters Mary Hawkins, Edith Stacy, and Alberta Read.
A graveside service for Helen will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday Dec. 29 at Maple Grove Cemetery, Topeka.
Memorial contributions in memory of Helen may be made to First Church of God.
