UPDATE — Vehicle Rollover On SR 14
SILVER LAKE — At approximately 9:50 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 28, emergency personnel from Silver Lake Police Department, Lake Township Fire & Rescue, Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department and Silver Lake Fire Department responded to a report of a vehicle rollover with entrapment on SR 14 in Silver Lake. The vehicle had gone down an embankment.
According to the accident report, Jon A. Kline, 47, Clear Creek Trail, North Manchester, was driving a silver Dodge Dakota westbound on SR 14, east of CR 100E. Kline started down a grade and lost control of the vehicle on the ice-covered road. The vehicle exited the south side of the road at CR 100E. Based on the tire tracks, it appears that the vehicle was already sideways as it exited the pavement. The vehicle then slid across a grassy area and entered a ditch, overturning and ending up on the west side of the ditch in a field on its top.
Kline stated he was on his way to work when his vehicle started to spin.
Officers checked the area of the road east of the crash site and did find ice on the road.
Kline was taken from the scene by medical units for treatment.
