Lois C. Knecht, 86, North Manchester, died at 8:05 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 7, 2017 in Peabody Healthcare Center, North Manchester.

She was born March 8, 1930 in Wabash to Ira and Estelle (Yentes) Crist.  She was Valedictorian of the Bippus High School class of 1948. On Sept. 17, 1949 she married Galen E. Knecht. He died May 10, 2008. She was a beautician in Bippus for 15 years and a homemaker. Lois was a member of New Hope United Church of Christ, Bippus. She was known for her pies and chocolate chip cookies and she loved fishing in Wisconsin.

She is survived by sons: Ty (Sonja) Knecht, North Manchester; Terry (Joanna) Knecht, North Manchester; and Todd (Judy) Knecht, North Manchester; daughter, Lynn (Gary) Huddleston, Wabash; thirteen grandchildren and twenty great grandchildren.  One brother, one sister and one grandson are deceased.

Family and friends may call from 3-8 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 10 and one hour prior to service Wednesday at McKee Mortuary, 1401 State Road 114 West, North Manchester. Service will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, January 11, 2017 at 10 a.m. at McKee Mortuary.  Pastor Susan Beamer will officiate.  Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery, Servia.
