Virginialee ‘Patty’ Shaffer
Virginialee “Patty” Shaffer, 86, Plymouth, passed away Thursday morning in the St. Joseph Regional Medical Center, Mishawaka.
She was born Jan. 2, 1931 in Kokomo, to the late Lawrence “Tubby” and Margaret (Johnson) Grant.
Patty graduated from Kokomo High School in 1948.
She married Charles R. Shaffer in 1970; he preceded her in death.
She had worked at State Farm Insurance and Indiana University of Kokomo as a secretary, Delco Electronics, but she enjoyed working for Dr. Shivey as his assistant in St. Louis, Missouri. She absolutely loved being a wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
Surviving are her two sons: Grant and Sheila Ellabarger of Plymouth and their children: Autumn Keown and her significant other Dave Dupree, both of Greenfield; Griffin Sterling of Plymouth; Jenna and Lee Schafer of Plymouth; and Jerra Hansen of Plymouth; Dirk and Deborah Ellabarger of Orangeburg, S.C.; and their son: Kevin of Orangeburg, S.C. Also surviving are fifteen great grandchildren: Syvanna, Scotty, Tyler, Blake, Brendon, Halo, Gunner, Logan, Grant, Vivian, Ava, Emma, Zian, Ryder and Parker; and her two brothers: Mark and Hazel Grant, Danny and Brenda Grant, all of Kokomo.
She was preceded in death by her parents and husband.
