Donna Mae Sheldon, age 94,Churubusco, passed away on Jan. 21, 2017 at her family farm.

Born in Allen County on May 18, 1922, a daughter of George And Emma (Glaw) Wappes, she spent her formative years in Allen County and graduated from Huntertown High School in 1940.

She enjoyed reading and doing her word searches. She Liked to whistle and mow her yard.

Donna was married on Dec. 18, 1943 to Carl R. Sheldon. He preceded her in death on Nov. 7, 1987.

Surviving include her daughter, Sharon (Don) Shearer, Churubusco; three grandchildren: Edison (Melissa) Shearer, Churubusco, Carla (Troy) Horn and Doug Shearer, Columbia City; and seven great grandchildren.

In addition to her husband and parents, Donna was preceded in death by two brothers, Edward Fogle and Walter Wappes, and two sisters Mable Shank and Olive Martin.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, Jan. 24, from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. at Sheets and Childs Funeral Home, Churubusco, or one hour prior to the service.

Services will begin at 10 a.m., at Sheets & Childs Funeral Home on Wednesday, Jan. 25.

Burial will follow at Eel River Cemetery, Allen County.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to Blue River Church of the Brethren Building Fund.
