Elkhart County 911 Calls Diverted to Kosciusko County
By CAPT. JAMES BRADBERRY
Elkhart County Sheriff’s Department
GOSHEN — Earlier this morning at approximately 10:30am, the Public Safety Communications Center experienced technical difficulties, causing 911 calls to police and fire departments within Elkhart County to be diverted to the County’s 911 backup center.
During the switch to the backup center, phone calls from the public were diverted to Kosciusko County’s dispatch center to ensure that emergencies occurring in Elkhart County were not lost.
It is expected that all normal functions will be back in service soon at the primary 911 center. All incoming calls will be taken in the backup center during this interim period. Elkhart County Sheriff’s Department officers and all emergency responders in Elkhart County will continue to offer services without interruption.
