Whitko Basketball: ‘Cats Cruise By Wabash
SOUTH WHITLEY — It was another successful night on the hardwood for the Whitko girls basketball team. The Wildcats dominated Three Rivers Conference foe Wabash 57-38.
The victory set a program record for the Wildcats as it was their 18th regular season victory of the year, surpassing the previous record of 17 set last season. Whitko blew the game open in the third quarter by outscoring the Apaches 20-5 in the frame.
The Wildcats were led by Aly Reiff’s 18 points. Kennedy Krull added another 12 for the home team.
Whitko (18-4, 7-1) returns to action Saturday in a regular season finale at Maconaquah. The game is a double header with the boys teams. The girls varsity game will begin at 6:15 p.m. in the main gym while the JV boys play in the auxiliary gym at 6:15. The boys varsity game will be at approximately 7:45 in the main gym after the girls varsity game, while the girls’ JV game will be at 7:45 in the auxiliary gym.
