Valley Basketball: Squires Down Vikes
NORTH MANCHESTER — The Tippecanoe Valley boys basketball team suffered its sixth consecutive loss Friday night, this time at the hands of Manchester. The Squires were led to a 69-53 victory behind a 23-point outing from Mason Hamby.
Hamby’s efforts were only outdone by Valley’s Alec Craig. Craig had a game-high 24 points on 11-19 shooting. The Vikings were 4-6 from the free throw line while Manchester shot 11-12 from the line. The Squires also hit 10 three-point shots to Valley’s five.
“Great team win tonight,” said Manchester head coach Mark Underwood. “Was very proud of my teams mental toughness team play and physical effort tonight. We can enjoy this tonight, but have to start thinking Northfield tomorrow.”
Valley falls to 6-11 overall and 2-4 in Three Rivers Conference play. The Vikings host Wabash Thursday night. Manchester improves to 3-11 and 3-3 in league play. The Squires host Northfield next Thursday.
