Mishawaka Escape Room Is Like No Other
MISHAWAKA — If you’re looking for a fun, team-building experience like no other, you can put your critical-thinking skills to the test with an escape room challenge.
Locked Up in Mishawaka is one of Michiana’s newest escape room groups.
Their goal is to set themselves apart from the rest by giving customers a luxury experience.
They have 3 different themed rooms that people can reserve for their group.
The newest room is the zombie themed “Patient 42.”
The story behind the escape room is the population has broken out with a virus and you have to solve the clues and find the antidote. As with any escape room, if you can figure it out the doors will unlock and your team has “escaped the room.”
The difficulty is the clock is ticking and you only have one hour to figure it all out. On average, their escape rate is only around 15% – 25%.
“It’s fun, even when people don’t escape they have a great time and they’re like ‘man I’ve got to go to a different room now and see if I can get out of that one,” says co-owner Jeremy Bachman.
They’re working on finishing construction on two other rooms— “Speakeasy” which is a 1930’s prohibition era theme and “Defused” where the goal is to diffuse a bomb.
Groups can pick a day and time to reserve a room on their website .
The first reservation starts at 1 p.m. and the last one is at 10 p.m. The cost is $28 per person.
Friday and Saturday are the most popular days and they suggest booking at least a week in advance for a weekend.
