Zimmer Biomet Announces Consolidation
WARSAW — Zimmer Biomet, Warsaw’s leading orthopedic company, has released a statement regarding a recent consolidation.
Vice President of Corporate Communications Monica Kendrick released the following statement: “With the goal of optimizing organizational structures and effectively deploying resources, several Zimmer Biomet businesses recently made structural changes to their organizations. As a result, certain positions in these businesses were eliminated or consolidated. Affected employees will be supported with a range of severance and outplacement benefits.”
Zimmer Biomet employees roughly 5,000 people locally and 18,000 people worldwide as of 2015. The organization has operations in more than 25 countries and sells products in more than 100.
A spokesperson for the company stated that approximately 0.5 percent of the Warsaw-based workforce was affected. With an estimated 5,000 people locally employed, this means about 25 of those employees are directly impacted by the consolidation. The employees were said to be in various professional or administrative positions. No hourly manufacturing positions were impacted.
