Officers with the Syracuse Police Department investigated the following accidents:
12:42 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 4, West Boston Street, Syracuse. Driver: Walter L. Morris, 52, West Boston Street, Syracuse. Morris struck a parked vehicle. Damage up to $1,000.
4:38 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 4, North Main Street, south of West Boston Street, Syracuse. A female reported hearing a bang and observed a vehicle backing away from a utility pole. It appears that the vehicle was traveling northbound, crossed the center line, and struck a railroad crossing sign and a Nipsco utility pole. Damage up to $2,500.
Kosciusko
Officers with the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department investigated the following accidents:
6:25 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 4, West CR 625S, Claypool. Driver: James E. White, 75, West Corly Lane, Silver Lake. Driver swerved to avoid hitting a deer that entered the roadway, causing the vehicle to slide on loose gravel and strike a tree. Damage up to $5,000.
7:29 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 4, North CR 400N, east of West CR 600N, Warsaw. Driver: Michael J. Monesmith, 61, North CR 600W, Warsaw. Driver struck a deer. Damage up to $2,500.
7:46 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 5, Armstrong Road, Leesburg. Driver: Zachary Spencer, 20, North Jefferson Street, Silver Lake. Deer ran into vehicle. Damage up to $2,500.
Warsaw
Officers with the Warsaw Police Department investigated the following accidents:
1:29 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 4, Beechnut Court, Warsaw. Driver: Beth A. Jungels, 47, Beechnut Court, Warsaw. Driver stated she was backing out of her garage and struck a parked vehicle. Damage up to $1,000.
12:35 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 5, North Detroit Street, Warsaw. Driver: Stephen A. Prater, 23, Canterbury Lane, Warsaw. Driver sideswiped a concrete pole. Damage up to $5,000.
1:58 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 5, Lake City Highway, Warsaw. Hit and run to a parked vehicle in Meiher parking lot. Damage up to $2,500.
