Edward F. Keith
Edward F. Keith, 97, Ligonier, passed away Friday, Feb. 3, 2017 at his home.
He was born on July 9, 1919 to Joseph & Minnie (Darr) Keith in Jonesboro. On May 11, 1940 he married Rose L. Alfrey. She preceded him in death in 1978. He later married Agnes Grissom Keith on Nov. 10, 1979.
Edward Keith served his country honorably in World War II in the United States Army Air Force from 1943 to 1945. He retired from International Harvester in 1981 after 16 years. Edward was also a member of the Ligonier United Methodist Church and the Neumar Kountry Klub. He was an avid woodworker and enjoyed the outdoors and camping.
Edward is survived by his wife, Agnes Keith of Ligonier; two children, David (Chris) Keith of Fort Wayne; Sandra (James) Steele of Auburn; two step children, Michael (Sue) Grissom of Columbia City; Mary Reynolds of Ligonier; eight grandchildren; and thirteen great grandchildren. Edward was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Rose; two daughters, Nancy Jean Keith and Sharon Ahlstrom.
There will be a funeral service at 10 a.m. Monday, Feb. 6 at Yeager Funeral Home, 1589 Lincolnway South, Ligonier, with Pastor Diana Siegel officiating. Burial will take place at Oak Park Cemetery in Ligonier with military honors.
Friends and family will gather from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 5 at the funeral home for a time of visitation.
Memorial donations are to the Ligonier United Methodist Church.
