Nancy Lee Baker
Nancy Lee Baker, Syracuse, passed away at 6:22 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 5, 2017 at Kosciusko Community Hospital of Warsaw, at the age of 81.
She was born Aug. 15, 1935 in Goshen, to Ernest Oswald and Mary Elizabeth (Wyland) Oswald. On Feb. 12, 1955 she was married to Bernard Baker, who passed away on October 20, 2001.
Nancy was a graduate of Concord High School in Dunlap, Indiana, and had worked for a number of years at Kidd Marshmallow Factory in Ligonier, Indiana. She enjoyed puzzles, embroidery and always kept busy. Most of all she will be remembered as the greatest mother and grandmother.
She will be lovingly remembered by her two sons: Michael Baker, Syracuse; Mark (wife Wendy) Baker, Goshen; daughter: Barbara Cripe, Syracuse; six grandchildren: Angie Baker, Niles, Mich.; Amanda (fiancé Jason) Cripe, Syracuse; Gretchen (husband Matt) Leatherman, Ligonier; Adam (wife Mary) Baker, Goshen; Ashley (husband Jake) Futrell, Millersburg; Amber (husband Zack) Roberts, Elkhart; and eight great grandchildren: Maddie, Ella, Ethan, Dillon, Heaven, Julianna, Brock and Grace. Also surviving are three sisters: Dorothy (husband Mike) Carter, Osceola; Ruth (husband Denver) Charles, Goshen; Doris Oswald, Wolf Lake. She was preceded in death by her husband Bernard; sister Mary Bontrager; three brothers: Ralph, Robert and Ernest Oswald Jr.; and one great granddaughter Sophia Baker.
No services are planned. A private graveside service will be conducted at a later date at Violett Cemetery in Goshen, Indiana. Arrangements were entrusted to Redpath-Fruth Funeral Home, 225 Argonne Road, Warsaw, Indiana.
