Top 60 Basketball Workouts Have Local Flair
INDIANAPOLIS – Hoosier Basketball Magazine issued its list of Top 60 senior girls basketball players invited to participate in the Senior Workouts in March.
Among the local selections were Aly Reiff and Brianna Cumberland of Whitko, Anne Secrest of Tippecanoe Valley and Dayton Groninger of Warsaw. Other area choices were Nicole Konieczny and Daly Sullivan of South Bend St. Joe, Kyannah Stull of John Glenn and Courtney Dunlap of Argos. Penn’s Lindsey Kline was also chosen but cannot attend.
The lists were developed through statistical evaluation, game observation and statewide research conducted throughout the season and into the state tournament to determine Hoosier Basketball Magazine’s Top 60. Two sessions of the 36th annual Top 60 Senior Workout will be hosted by Hoosier Basketball Magazine in conjunction with the IHSAA and the IBCA on Sunday, March 5, at Heritage Christian High School in Indianapolis.
Half of the Top 60 girls, primarily from northern and southern Indiana, will participate in the first session (1-3 p.m.) and the remaining players, primarily from central Indiana, will compete during the second session (3:30-5:30 p.m.). Seven-time state champion coach Rick Risinger of Heritage Christian will direct both sessions. Five other outstanding Indiana girls’ high school coaches from the IBCA have been invited to join the 2017 Top 60 staff – Sarah Black (Union City), Brad Burden (Providence), Tom Downard (Indianapolis Ritter), Rodney Fisher (Gary West) and Gary Teel (Argos).
Both sessions are open to the public for admission fee of $8 or $5 for students.
