Fitzgerald, Sanner Lead Edgewood Ladies To Wins
WARSAW – The Edgewood Middle School girls basketball teams picked up two more wins Thursday night.
Brooklyn Fitzgerald scored 16 points to pace the Edgewood Middle School 8th grade girls basketball team to a 47-38 victory over Riverview.
Kensie Ryman had 10 points and Lindsey Bradley eight for the winners, who improve to 13-2 on the season. Kendra Love netted seven points, while Aubrey Hepler had four and Audrey Grimm two for Edgewood.
Kathleen Arnold led Riverview with 12 points.
Stephanie Atkinson tallied eight points and Preslee Williams and Maddison Levy each had six points for Riverview. Maddie Husband added four points and Lily Clanin two.
Abby Sanner was the hero for the Edgewood 7th grade squad. Sanner hit a jump shot at the end of overtime to lift her team to a 23-21 win.
The game, pitting a pair of undefeated teams, was tied 19-19 at the end of regulation play.
Mackenzie Sokol led the offense for Edgewood, now 15-0, with nine points.
Bailie Stephens scored six points and both Sanner and Adin Um added four points.
Both Edgewood teams host Lincoln next Thursday night in the first game of the conference tournament.
