During Power of the Hour, Interra staff members provided approximately 250 hours working on service projects to support six area organizations.

KOSCIUSKO COUNTY — An hour can be powerful when 250 people focus on serving local agencies. That’s just what happened at Interra Credit Union’s recent annual staff development day. During “Power of the Hour,” employees participated in projects to help six different organizations.

The project activities included making more than 30 fleece blankets for Linus Project distribution to local agencies, packing more than 200 appreciation goody bags for fire departments throughout Interra’s six-county footprint, helping the Boys and Girls Clubs of Elkhart County make 200 donor appreciation gifts, preparing a disability awareness mailing for MDC Goldenrod, making dozens of grief masks for Ryan’s Place and repackaging several tubs of  laundry detergent and bags of dry food in to single use containers.

“Providing community service is a part of our culture,” noted Karen Steffensen, vice president of communications and community engagement. “Power of the Hour is an important component of our staff development day.”
