NLC Announces Its All-NLC Basketball Teams
GOSHEN – Warsaw’s banner year in the Northern Lakes Conference boys basketball circuit, its third straight undefeated season, yielded three players on the 2016-17 All-NLC teams.
Kyle Mangas and Jeremy David were both named All-NLC and Jaceb Burish to the Honorable Mention All-NLC list for the Tigers, which won the conference outright for a record third-straight time, Concord (1986-88) the only other team to win three straight NLC titles, but Warsaw being the only team to do it without a loss.
Tiger head coach Douglas T. Ogle was named the conference’s Coach of the Year.
Elkhart Memorial and NorthWood both finished 5-2 in the NLC, the Chargers having Joe Smith and Jose Soto as All-NLC and Hank Smith as Honorable Mention All-NLC while the Panthers had Luke Zurcher and Vinny Miranda as All-NLC.
Northridge’s 4-3 mark had Luke Morrison and Connor Utley as All-NLC and Nick Yoder as Honorable Mention All-NLC.
Concord at 3-4 had Brandon Emerick as All-NLC and Denzel Halliburton as Honorable Mention All-NLC.
Plymouth and Goshen each were 2-5, the Pilgrims with Nick Felke as All-NLC and Clay Hilliard as Honorable Mention All-NLC while the RedHawks had Will Line as All-NLC and Mitchell Walters as Honorable Mention All-NLC.
Wawasee at 0-7 had Trevon Coleman named All-NLC.
