Whitko Archery: Big Tournament On Tap
LARWILL – The second running of the Whitko Archery Invitational will take place this Friday and Saturday, March 24-25, at Whitko Middle School.
Action begins Friday at 6 p.m. and resumes Saturday morning at 8 a.m. Archers from 23 schools, making up nearly 400 total participants, cover three states in one of the largest invites in northern Indiana. Among the teams will be Hartland, Mich., which is the 2016 NASP World runner-up, and 2016 NASP/IBO Outdoor 3D High School World Champion Amy Hurd and the 2017 Indiana State NASP/IBO 3D Elementary Champion Emma Engelhaupt, and Middle Division 3D runner-up Vivian Gaerte, all from Whitko.
This event comes on the heels of Whitko Archery’s strong finish at the 2017 Indiana NASP State Tournament where each of Whitko’s 3D teams finished either second or third. Whitko Bullseye targets teams placed fourth in the Elementary Division and seventh in Middle Division. Whitko had 94 student athletes qualify for the 2017 State Tournament.
Whitko Archery is celebrating its tenth year of providing quality archery instruction for the Whitko Community School Corporation. Bill Green is the head coach for Whitko’s archery program.
