Warsaw Man Keys Vehicle, Threatens To Kill Cousin And Her Children
WARSAW — A Warsaw man was arrested after he keyed a vehicle and threatened to kill his cousin and her children after she refused to give him a ride.
Charles William Dove, 33, 920 Anchorage Road, Warsaw, is being charged with intimidation, a level 6 felony, and criminal mischief, a class A misdemeanor.
On March 31, an officer with the Warsaw Police Department responded to an intimidation and criminal mischief complaint. Upon arrival, the victim advised that her cousin, Dove, asked her for a ride to North Webster. Around 30 minutes after the victim denied Dove a ride, she observed Dove’s mother’s vehicle outside her home. The victim then discovered multiple scratches on a vehicle parked at the house.
The victim showed the officer multiple text messages she had received from Dove. Dove had sent messages including, “All you had to do was give me a ride b****. I’ll kill you, bang bang. Watch your back, I will get you and your kids.”
The officer also observed photographs sent to the victim’s phone of Dove holding a pistol and a shotgun with the caption, “I got what it takes to put you and your kids in the ground. Bang bang bang. Bye, b****.”
Dove was then located at his home. After being read his Miranda rights, he agreed to talk about the incident. Dove admitted that when refused a ride he became enraged. He further admitted to sending threatening text messages, pictures and keying the vehicle.
Dove was booked into the Kosciusko County Jail on April 1 with a $5,250 surety and cash bond.
