Triton Sports Wrap – April 8
Boys Golf
The Triton boys golf program opened its 2017 campaign in style, winning its Triton Invite Saturday afternoon at Rozella Ford Golf Course.
Triton won the title by shooting a 339 team score.
Braden Kreft led Triton with an 83, finishing second in the tournament, with teammate Mace Eads also shooting 83 to finish fourth via a tiebreaker. Isaac Wall finished at 85, Beau Hepler had an 88 to wrap the team score and Bryce Swihart was just behind with the fifth score at 89.
Triton will golf again Wednesday against LaVille and Bremen.
Softball
Triton earned its first two wins of the season Saturday in a doubleheader sweep at Argos.
Triton won game won 17-3 and kept rolling, 22-6, in game two.
Every Triton player scored or drove in at least one run in the first game, and game two was highlighted by Taytum Hargrave’s two-run homer.
Triton (2-1) will host Tippecanoe Valley Monday afternoon.
