Triton Baseball: Trojans Work Double Time Against West Central
BOURBON – Triton claimed a pair of Hoosier North Athletic Conference wins Saturday over West Central, highlighted by a no-hitter from Dylan Hensley. The Trojans won the two games 10-0 and 12-2.
Hensley was nearly perfect in the first game, allowing just one walk in his first no-hitter. Hensley fanned 11 and needed only 67 pitches in the six-inning gem.
The offense was on the move in game one, stealing nine bases. Triton had just five hits, but drew seven walks. Zac Pitney had a hit, RBI, two runs scored and three stolen bases, Lucas Newman had two walks and two stolen bases and Nate Flenar had a double, two RBI and a stolen base.
In game two, Pitney twirled a second gem on the hill, working seven innings of five-hit ball with eight strikeouts. Triton, designated the away team in the scorebook as part of the ‘home and home doubleheader’ opened the first inning with three runs, then tacked on three more to pull away from Central.
Pitney added a double, homer, two RBI, three runs scored and a stolen base in a busy day for Big Blue.
Max Slusser had two hits and two RBI and Adam Stevens drove in a pair.
The Trojans move to 4-2 overall (3-1 HNAC) with its next contest Tuesday at Oregon-Davis in a rain makeup from earlier in the month.
