Altrusa International District Six Donates To Beaman Home
WARSAW — At Altrusa International’s District Six Annual Conference April 7-9 held at Swan Lake Resort near Plymouth, the district service project this year benefitted the Beaman Home. Donations were made in products and cash.
Beaman Home Executive Director, Tracie Hodson spoke to the group and thanked the district’s members from Indiana, Illinois and Kentucky. She was very passionate in her message about the important role of the Altrusa Club of Warsaw to the Beaman Home and domestic violence advocacy, and reminded members how much their work in their communities benefits these types of organizations.
Nearly 1,300 items were donated and another $570 in cash was divided between Beaman, Gabriel’s Horn Shelter (Portage County) and Housing Opportunities for Dayspring Counseling Center in Valparaiso. The Merrillville, Warsaw and Huntington Clubs co-hosted the Conference this year and chose the recipients.
Beaman Home has provided services to Kosciusko, Fulton and Marshall Counties’ victims of domestic violence and their children since 1985.
