Firefighters work to clear burnt debris from the side of the house.

PIERCETON — A grass fire caught the east side of a house on fire today, April 25 in Pierceton. The fire occurred at 9938 East CR 250N, Pierceton.

Pierceton Fire Department and Tippecanoe Township Fire Department responded to the fire at approximately 11 a.m. The fire had spread from the grass to the east side of the two-story house. Firefighters were able to extinguish the fire within 15 minutes.

All residents were able to safely escape the home. It is not known at this time what started the initial grass fire.
