Triton Sports Wrap: April 24
Baseball
The Triton baseball team run-ruled Knox 10-0 Monday night. The Trojans had a “walk-off” style win in the bottom of the fifth thanks to an eight-run output in the frame.
Zac Pitney earned the shutout victory on the mound with five innings of work and a nine-strikeout performance. Pitney was also 2-3 at the plate with two runs scored and an RBI. Max Slusser led Triton offensively by going 3-4 and scoring two runs. Adam Stevens and Lucas Newman each had a pair of RBIs for Triton in the victory.
Triton improves to 7-2 on the season.
Softball
The Lady Trojan softball team dominated LaVille 12-2 in four and a half innings Monday evening. Triton had 13 hits to help fuel the victory.
Crystal Brown and Courtney Jennings each had two RBIs for Triton while Taytum Hargrave and Nicole Sechrist each scored a pair of runs. Jennings picked up the win, pitching four innings and giving up two hits behind seven strikeouts.
Triton is now 6-3 on the year.
