TVMS Track Rumbles With Neighbors
AKRON – Tippecanoe Valley’s middle school track teams competed with Southwood and Wabash on Monday.
The 6/7 girls team scored 26 points to Wabash’s 33 and Southwood’s 75. Chloe Shepherd had the top discus throw at 65-6 and was second in the shot put at 21-3. Corrina Stiles was second in the 400 at 1:15 and Brienna McDonald was second in the 220 hurdles at 36.2.
The 6/7 boys team scored 61.5 points to Wabash’s 51.5 and Southwood’s 25. Rex Kirchenstein was first in high jump at 4-4, the 100 dash at 12.7 and was on the winning 1600 relay at 4:41 and the 400 relay at 54.5. Wade Melanson was first in shot put at 31-11.5 and second in discus at 93-5.
The eighth grade girls scored 31 points to Wabash’s 62 and Southwood’s 39. Ava Craig was first in the 1600 at 6:31.9 while Belamie Carlin was second in the 100 dash at 14.3 and Delaney Waggoner was second in the 400 at 1:13.4.
The eighth grade boys scored 21 points to Wabash’s 36 and Southwood’s 81. Alek Mikel was first in long jump at 15-9.25 and second in the 400 at 1:00.1.
