Warsaw Woman Enters Home, Batters Another Woman With Can
WARSAW — A Warsaw woman is facing battery charges after entering a home and battering another woman.
Kathy Ann Buckheit, 54, 312 N. Washington Street, Warsaw, is being charged with residential entry, a level 6 felony, battery, a class A misdemeanor, and resisting law enforcement, a class A misdemeanor.
According to the affidavit of probable cause, an officer with the Warsaw Police Department responded to a residential entry and battery on April 27.
Upon arrival the officer spoke with the female victim who advised she was laying on the couch when Buckheit entered her home without permission. Buckheit then ran at the woman and began hitting her in the head with a can before getting on top of her and striking her three more times before falling to the floor.
The victim observed Buckheit pick up a knife and sought safety in the bathroom to call 9-1-1. Buckheit left the residence.
The affidavit states the officer found Buckheit and spoke with her. Bucket admitted to entering the victim’s residence and battering her. When the officer told Buckheit she was under arrest she became belligerent and attempted to kick him. The officer took Buckheit to the ground and was able to handcuff her.
Buckheit was booked in the Kosciusko County Jail on April 27 and held on $5,250 surety and cash bond.
