Seven Artists To Refurbish Warsaw’s Oldest Building
WARSAW — Seven local young artists are looking to refurbish one of Warsaw’s oldest buildings. The Ballroom, as it is now being called, sits above MudLove at 122 S. Buffalo St., Warsaw.
The vast empty room was left to decay until a recent clean up of the space by the team of artists. Walls that were once graffitied and a floor that was caked in dirt have been cleaned up, but the space has a long way to go.
The Kosciusko Chamber of Commerce held a ribbon cutting for the space which will be hosting its first art gallery this Friday, May 5. The pop-up style art gallery will be just one of many. The team hopes to raise donations during the galleries to help renovate the space.
“Warsaw is a town pulsing with creativity that’s begging for more spaces to display it. This show isn’t just a means to restore this beautiful place, but it’s here to give artists a chance to show their work, connect with other artists and band together as a community,” states The Ballroom’s Facebook.
With the first event falling on First Friday, the group is hopeful they will get a lot of traffic through the space. Currently there is no handicap accommodation in the building; the space is up multiple flights of stairs.
