Goshen Tabs Hill As New Girls’ Hoops Coach
GOSHEN – The new girls basketball coach at Goshen High School is a familiar face to the program.
Shaun Hill, who has served as an assistant coach in both the girls and boys programs at GHS, was approved Monday night as the next man in charge of the RedHawks girls team.
Hill spent last season as an assistant coach for the girls program at GHS. He spent the previous two seasons as the head coach of the girls basketball team at Bremen High School.
Hill replaces Lenny Krebs, who resigned last month after 14 years to take over as the new girls basketball coach at Warsaw Community High School. Hill becomes just the fourth girls basketball coach in GHS history.
“Shaun is a perfect fit for our needs at Goshen High School,” said Goshen Athletic Director Larry Kissinger in a press release. “He understands the role of education-based athletics as an integral part of the GHS experience. He relates well to his students and is very knowledgeable in the art of coaching basketball. We are fortunate to have Shaun as our next girls basketball coach.”
Hill is a 1995 Michigan City High School graduate and he played four years of basketball at Tri-State University (now Trine University) in Angola. He and his wife have four children.
Hill is a physical development and health teacher at Goshen High School. He will take over a Goshen team that went 8-15 overall and finished 1-6 in the Northern Lakes Conference during the 2016-17 season.
