Sydney Howard was excellent Wednesday night as she threw a complete game shutout for the Vikings in a 13-0, five inning win over Wabash.

Howard recorded six strikeouts while in the circle and gave up just three hits. Howard was also 1-2 at the plate with a walk, a run scored and an RBI. Ally Betten led Valley with four RBIs while Abby Betten had a team-high three hits.

Valley improves to 8-11 on the year and plays at Marion Thursday night.

Baseball

The Valley baseball team fell 6-2 to Wabash Wednesday evening. The Apaches scored five runs in the first three innings to grab control and never looked back.

Lucas Walters took the loss on the mound for Valley. Wabash had four hits as a team while Valley produced three.

The Vikings are not 6-9 on the year and 2-5 in the Three Rivers Conference. Valley hosts Westview this Saturday.
