NorthWood Baseball: Panthers Finish Perfect In NLC
NAPPANEE – The NorthWood baseball team put an exclamation point on an undefeated run through conference play Monday night.
The host Panthers drilled league foe Northridge 12-2 in a Northern Lakes Conference game.
NorthWood wraps up league play at a perfect 14-0. The Panthers improve to 22-1 overall and have won their last 22 games.
Vincent Herschberger led the way for coach Jay Sheets’ squad with three hits, including a double. The senior also picked up the pitching win for the Panthers.
Drake Gongwer went 3-4 with a double and two RBI for NorthWood. Drew Minnich had a double and drove in three runs for the winners.
Jaron Mullet had two hits and Travis Stephenson a double and an RBI. Brant Mast and Sawyer Warren each had a hit and an RBI for the Panthers.
Northridge drops to 18-6 overall and finishes 10-4 in NLC play.
NorthWood will face Wawasee on Saturday in a semifinal game of the Class 3-A NorthWood Sectional.
