Triton, Whitko, Wawasee All Land All-State Softballers
INDIANAPOLIS – A host of local talent were honored by the Indiana Coaches of Girls Sports Association in its 2017 Softball All-State Teams.
Leading the way are Triton junior Taytum Hargrave and Whitko sophomore Ellie Snep, both chosen as First Team All-State in the Class 1-2A division. Hargrave’s teammate, Nicole Sechrist, was chosen Third Team All-State and Whitko’s Kennedy Krull and Emmalee Duggins were both Second Team All-State selections.
Wawasee’s Meghan Fretz was chosen as a Third Team All-State player in the Class 3-4A division, additionally head coach Mike Barger was selected to coach in the All-Star game next weekend.
Chosen for the 3-4A First Team were Danielle Watson, Maddy Newman and Katie Quinlan of Penn. Second Team went to Mackenzie Griman of Penn and Megan Welsh of St. Joe. Third Team went to Emily Lipsett of Culver Academy, Lena Tirotta of Mishawaka, Megan Reba of Marian and Sydney Swartz of St. Joe.
Chosen for the 1-2A First Team were Miranda Hettinger of Winamac, Shannon Arndt of Bremen, Brooklyn Howard of Manchester, Madison Bremer of Central Noble and Mallory Pearson of Churubusco. Second Team went to Emily Coffel of Bremen, Kelsey Crawford of Winamac, and Central Noble’s Samantha Brumbaugh and Emily Collins. Third Team went to Bremen’s Rylee Hershberger and Sara Knepper.
