Hamstra To Join Warsaw Athletic Office
WARSAW – The Warsaw Board of School Trustees approved the hiring of Jeffrey Hamstra for the assistant athletic
director position at Warsaw Community High School.
Hamstra student-taught at WCHS when he attended Grace College. At Grace, Hamstra played both basketball and baseball, earning eight total varsity letters and NAIA men’s baseball and basketball scholar-athlete awards. He was also basketball captain in the 2005-2006 season for coach Jim Kessler.
Hamstra served as the athletic director at Covenant Christian High School, was head basketball coach and assistant baseball coach at Kankakee Valley High School and currently teaches at Muster Schools while assisting Mustang athletics.
Dr. David Hoffert stated, “We are very excited to have Mr. Hamstra join the WCS team. His expertise and knowledge will be a great asset to our many K-12 extracurricular programs. This position was made possible through the consolidation and cost efficiencies of other supplementary programs.”
“We are looking forward to having Jeff join Tiger Athletics,” Warsaw Athletic Director, Dave Anson said. “Jeff brings a passion for kids, programs, and he is very familiar with the Warsaw community having attended Grace and serving as a student teacher here. His experience managing programs and working with facilities and event operations will help our department serve our student-athletes, programs, and school community much more effectively.”
