Warsaw Woman Lied About Her Name When Caught With Meth
WARSAW — A Warsaw woman provided officers with a false name when she was pulled over and caught with methamphetamine.
Erin Briseno, 27, 47 West CR 250N, Warsaw is being charged with possession of methamphetamine, a level 6 felony and false informing, a class B misdemeanor.
On June 20, an officer with the Warsaw Police Department received an attempt to locate call for a GMC Jimmy. The officer observed the vehicle driving on McCellan Street in Warsaw. The driver of the vehicle, Briseno, was wanted for an active warrant for her arrest out of Noble County.
The officer conducted a traffic stop and Briseno identified herself with a false name. No information was registered with the Indiana Bureau of Motor Vehicles with the given name. At that point, the officer checked for information on Briseno and was able to get a license return along with a previous jail booking photo. Using the photograph, the officer was able to positively identify Briseno.
According to the affidavit of probable cause, the officer again asked Briseno for her name and she once again used a fake name. The officer admitted he knew it was a false name and Briseno then told him her real name. Briseno was then arrested on the arrest warrant.
In the vehicle, the officer observed a plastic bag with white residue in plain view. The residue tested positive for methamphetamine.
