Golf Outing Raises Nearly $13,000 For Beaman Home’s Programs and Services
WINONA LAKE — It was a beautiful day at South Shore Golf Course in Syracuse as team members from various local businesses took turns swinging clubs for a good cause at the 25th Annual Beaman Home Golf Scramble, June 5. Overall, the event netted nearly $13,000 to support the Beaman Home’s continued goal to provide essential services to domestic violence victims and their children. With 25 teams participating, the day was full of fun and friendly competition.
The Bartel Printing team took home first place in the scramble with a score of 55. Team members Murray Bartel, Mike LaLonde, Chris LaLonde and Nick Anglemeyer each received a prize package including 18 holes of golf at South Shore Golf Club and a $50 gift card to Cerulean Restaurant.
Midwest Poultry team was the runner-up, with team members Mike Krouse, Trey Eaton, Jamie Boyd and Mark Mathias taking home second place with a score of 57. Each team member won a $25 gift card to Bella Vitale and a golf umbrella from Key Bank.
All teams had options to pay for mulligans and a creative way to further the advancement of their ball on a day full of crazy antics. Bowen Center sponsored a hole where golfers were challenged to manipulate a remote-control car to improve their tee-off position. At the end of the day, Bowen Center employees presented Beaman Home with $690 raised by their RC challenge.
Other contests the players participate in were the longest drive, longest putt, and closest to the pin. The longest drives were won by Corey Branam and Tabitha Cooper. The longest putt winner was Shane Hartle and Lex Dalton won the closest to the pin. All players were also given a chance to win a Textron Off Road Prowler 500 sponsored by Kerlin Motorsports for a hole in one.
