Richard J.L. ‘Dick’ Fulk
Richard J.L. “Dick” Fulk, 77, Syracuse, passed away at 2:07 p.m. on June 22, 2017 at his home.
He was born on March 28, 1940 in Churubusco (Green Center) to Jesse L. and Clara (Boggs) Fulk.
He attended Churubusco High School and was a United States Army veteran.He was a self-employed merchant and the former owner and operator of Dick’s Chevy Shack in Wolf Lake for over 50 years. He lived in the Syracuse area for many years, formerly lived in Churubusco and Camden, Mich., and wintered in Ocala, Fla. for several years.
He was a member of the American Legion in Rome City and formerly attended Wawasee Lakeside Chapel in Syracuse.
He is survived by his daughters: Angela Jean (Paul) Flynn, Gainesville, Ga.; Lora (Louis) Sprandel, Kendallville; a son, David (Martha) Fulk, Coo Bay, Ore.; five grandchildren and five great grandchildren; and a sister: Bonnie Rensner, Speedwell, Tenn.
He was preceded in death by his parents, sister, Elizabeth Fulk, and brother, Tom Fulk.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Tuesday, June 27 at Owen Family Funeral Home, 1001 S. Huntington St., Syracuse. Funeral services will follow at 1 p.m. on Tuesday in the funeral home with Pastor Harlan Steffen of the Wawasee Lakeside Chapel officiating. Cremation will take place at Cremation Services of Kosciusko County, 4356 N. St. Rd 15, Warsaw.
