According to the affidavit of probable cause, on May 29 a Warsaw Police Officer responded to a theft at Meijer. The officer spoke with loss prevention who advised he noticed a shortage within the “expensive liquor area.” Loss prevention had reviewed security footage and observed a male, identified as Julian, and a female select $241.90 worth of liquor, hide it in the female’s purse and leave the store without paying.
On June 4, Warsaw officers again responded to a theft at Meijer. Loss prevention advised that the same subjects selected $172.97 worth of liquor and again left without paying. This occurred again on June 12, with the subjects choosing $201.96 worth of liquor, and again on June 25 when the subjects selected $121.97 worth of liquor.
When the investigating officer spoke with Julian he admitted that he and a female stole the liquor from Meijer and traded it for heroin.
Julian was booked into Kosciusko County Jail on July 3 and held on a bond of $10,250 surety and cash.
This story will be updated, pending the arrest of the female and two others involved.
