Nappanee Natives Embrace The Pace
NAPPANEE — The town of Nappanee invited residents and new comers to leave the hustle and bustle of everyday life, if only for an hour or two.
“Embrace the Pace Days,” an annual three day celebration that began back in 2006, came to a close today, but not before hosting several fun activities.
Garage sales took place throughout town Thursday through Saturday, offering a variety of unique finds.
A number of shops welcomed patrons with open arms and provided a relaxing shopping experience.
Countless people stopped to observe the lifelike statues that dotted the streets. Some even used the opportunity to take some selfies.
The ten sculptures are part of Seward Johnson’s collection, “Celebrating the Familiar,” which has been dedicated to mirroring simple, everyday activities.
At 2:30, motorcyclists took to the streets for the annual Cruisin’ for the Club ride. The 70-mile ride went through a number of towns and was sponsored by the Boys and Girls Club.
Hungry Nappanee natives lined the side of the fire department building long before 4 p.m. to show support and to chow down at the annual fish fry.
The festivities concluded with a concert by Allen Daviess Unit at the pavilion.
