Kosciusko County Fair Is The Place For Race Fans
WARSAW — On July 12 and 13, the Warsaw Motorsports Complex at the Kosciusko County Fairgrounds will feature events appealing to anyone who enjoys the sights, sounds and smells of engines being pushed to their limits in the pursuit of speed.
The third annual Roy Bradbury Classic starts at 6 p.m., Wednesday, July 12, with Micro 600 Sprint racing, winged and non-winged, along with junior, restricted races. Practice begins at 6 p.m., with opening ceremonies taking place at 7 p.m. The racing starts at 7:30 p.m.
The junior sprint races are open to children ages 6-12. Drivers may be as young as 5 if they have prior racing experience, can prove they are able to safely handle a vehicle and receive track permission.
General admission for the Roy Bradbury Classic is $10 for adults, $6 for children ages 6-12 and free for those 5 years of age and younger. Pit passes are $25 for adults, $15 for ages 6-12, and the pit area opens to spectators at 3 p.m.. General admission gates open at 4 p.m.
KOI Dirt Drag Racing returns to the Kosciusko County Fair this year at 7:30 p.m., Thursday, July 13. KOI racing involves just about anything with a motor. As they say on their website, “We have a class for everything … if it has wheels we can run it.” Spectators are likely to see anything from lawn mowers to semi-tractors dragging through the dirt. But the focus will be on ATV and truck drag races.
Admittance is $10 for adults, $6 for children ages 6-12 and free for children 5 and under. Pit passes are $15.
The fifth annual Shaggy Memorial Demolition Derby starts at 7:30 p.m., and this year will feature four classes of destructive mayhem: Truck, gut and go, stock and modified. The gut and go class was added last year and is designed for amateurs to join the fun. Cash prizes of up to $600 in the Truck and Gut and Go class competitions and $1,000 in the stock and modified classes are up for grabs for first place winners.
The entry fee per car or truck is $25, which includes drivers pit passes. General admission is $10 for adults, $6 for children ages 6-12 and free for those 5 and under. Pit passes are $15.
