Speedway Looking To Sell Property, US 30 And SR 13
PIERCETON — Al Chakonas, a real estate representative for Speedway, was at the July 10 Pierceton Council meeting with engineer Eric Carter to discuss the possibility of selling approximately four acres of land near the Speedway on US 30 and SR 13.
A good portion of the land for sale is wetland area. Any party who purchases the property would be responsible for appropriate drainage.
Several neighbors of the property were in attendance to hear what was planned for the property. There was a general agreement that there was no issue with the sale of the property, only concern of who buys it.
Convenience stores, liquor or tobacco stores or fast food can not go on the property as to not be in competition with Speedway. The developers are hoping a hotel or a sit-down restaurant will be built on the lot.
No new access points off of US 30 will be constructed.
