Bradbury Honored At His Classic [VIDEO]
WARSAW – The night began on a somber note, but finished with some great racing, just the way it was designed.
The running of the third-annual Roy Bradbury Classic began with a moment of silence and honoring of the namesake of the races. Bradbury passed away Monday at the age of 81, and had his blueprint all over the revival of racing at Warsaw as well as the Kosciusko Fair as a whole.
Bradbury served on the fair board for 19 years and was instrumental in bringing dirt track auto racing back to the fairgrounds, which returned three years ago. Wednesday’s Classic would have made Bradbury proud as three features all displayed quality races from some of the area’s top sprint car drivers.
The 600cc micro sprint cars ran in both winged and non-winged events, as well as junior sprints and restrictor races.
The top three from the winged feature were Joe Leek, Sam Kimmel and Nick Yoder. In the Jr. Sprints were Parker Leek, Connor Lane and Jacob “JB” Boxell. In the non-wing finale, Bradley Jameson took honors with Nick Yoder and Zach Shepler runners-up.
