FAA Determines 2015 Crash Result Of Pilot Losing Control
WARSAW —The Federal Aviation Administration released the probable cause for the small plane crash the killed four members of the community in 2015.
According to the report, the accident was the result of the pilot losing control of the airplane. The reasons for the loss of control could not be determined based on the available information.
The report goes on to state, “Although the pilot lost control of the airplane, there was no evidence of impaired behavior or decision-making before the loss of control.”
The plane crash occurred on Oct. 2, 2015. Warsaw City Councilman Charlie Smith, his son and attorney Scott Smith, former Tippecanoe Valley Football Coach Scott Bibler and retired Sprint Car driver Tony Elliott were all killed in the accident near Westminster, S.C. .
