Tony Elliott Foundation Golf Scramble Sept. 18
LEESBURG – A charity golf scramble to benefit the Tony Elliott Foundation is set for Sept. 18 at the Tippecanoe Lake Country Club.
Cost to enter the tournament is $400 per foursome, which includes scramble, lunch and beverage cart. Awards will be given to the top thee teams and the event will also include a clubhouse cocktail reception and a silent auction.
The foundation supports worthy recipients in the racing community and all proceeds from the scramble will go towards that goal. Persons can email Shane Hartle at shane,[email protected] to register for the outing.
Elliott was a WCHS graduate and a star sprint car driver. He won a pair of USAC national championships and numerous area track titles during his illustrious racing career.
Elliott died in plane crash in 2015, along with Charlie Smith, Scott Smith and Scott Bibler, while en route to the Notre Dame at Clemson football game. He was a member of the Warsaw Speedway Hall of Fame.
